Munich Christmas Markets

At the end of November, there start numerous Christmas Markets throughout Munich, the capital of Bavaria in Germany. Most of them last until December 24th. The most famous Christmas Market is that at the Marienplatz in the center of Munich. The other, mostly smaller ones, however, are really worth a visit as well.

Christmas Market Chinesischer Turm

The Christmas Market at the Chinese Tower in the English Garden is ideal for taking a break during your walk through the English Garden.

Christmas Market Haidhausen

At the Weißenburger Platz in the Munich area Haidhausen, there is the rather small, but nevertheless really popular "Haidhauser Christmas Market".

Christmas Market Marienplatz

The Christmas Market at the Marienplatz is the the largest as well as the most famous of Munich's Christmas Markets. In front of the city hall, there is set up a huge Christmas tree. On the balcony of the city hall, a daily concert takes place between 5.30 and 6.00 p.m.

Christmas Market Neuhausen

The Christmas Market at the Rotkreuzplatz is very popular in the Munich area Neuhausen.

Christmas Market Schwabing

The Christmas Market in Schwabing is not only famous for its stalls mainly selling handcraft but also for its two stages where artistic performances are carried out every day.

Christmas Market Sendlinger Tor

At the Christmas Market around the Sendlinger Tor in the center of Munich, arts and crafts are sold.

Tollwood Winter Festival

The Tollwood Winter Festival is not actually a Christmas Market, but a place where arts and crafts are sold in the numerous stalls and many shows and performances take place.
