Frühlingsfest

A small version of the Oktoberfest is the "Frühlingsfest". Like the Oktoberfest, it is carried out at the Theresienwiese in Munich in spring every year. This fairly small public festival might be easier for families with children or if you don't like masses of people like on the Oktoberfest.

In 2008, the "Frühlingsfest" will take place on the Theresienwiese in Munich from April 11th until April 27th.

Auer Dult

The Auer Dult is an old market that takes place three times a year at the Mariahilfplatz in Munich. There are many stalls where you find stuff like old books, cooking equipment, rare things and much more. In addition, there are a few fairground rides for children as well as many food stalls.
In 2008, the Auer Dult will be from April 26th to May 4th ("Mai-Dult"), July 26th to August 3rd ("Jakobi-Dult") and October 18th to 26th ("Kirchweihdult").

Tollwood

Another festival that has become quite important and popular throughout the years, is the "Tollwood". It is carried out twice a year, in summer in the Olympic Park, and in winter at the Theresienwiese (like the Oktoberfest).

The Munich Opera Festival is carried out once a year in summer in the Munich Opera House.

Oktoberfest

The most important festival in Munich in Bavaria, Germany, is the Oktoberfest, also called "Wies'n". Many locals as well as foreigners are looking forward to it during the whole year.
