The "Münchner Kammerspiele" were founded in 1911 as private theater and moved to their present house in the Maximilianstrasse in Munich in 1917. The Kammerspiele became famous very soon particularly for the quality of the productions as well as of the actors. Not only classic plays are shown in the theater now, but also debut performances. At present, the "Münchner Kammerspiele" have three stages, all of the located near Maximilianstrasse: "Schauspielhaus", "Werkraum" and "Neues Haus". |
