The "Tierpark Hellabrunn" is Munich's zoo. Founded in 1911 at the banks of the river Isar in the Munich area "Thalkirchen", the Munich zoo is rather a natural park and one of the first zoos following the concept of animals living in their natural environment. Therefore, the enclosures are very large.
